Purses and Bags Workshop

This workshop is all about recycling old fabric materials and creating something new – bags and purses that is!  Old pair of jeans that doesn’t fit anymore?  We can bring it to new life making a purse, some storage baskets, and other little bags and pouches!  Ever wondered how a pom-pom was made?  Well, here’s your chance to also learn that!

What to bring to class: a pair of old jeans or a straight denim skirt (no stretchy material, please!) and the patience to complete some hand sewing.  All other materials will be provided by instructor.
THIS CLASS IS ALSO OPEN TO PARENTS!

6th grade BOYS basketball

We are extremely lucky to be able to have two fenomenal coaches work with the boys on their basketbal skills. Coach Spencer Gerke coached the 6th grade boys last year and is coming back to work with the kids. He knows his way around local tournaments in town for the players that are interested in weekend games. Coach Thomas Bragg will work with the players on their basketball skills and athleticism through fun drills and games.
For the kids that want to participate in tournament play coach Spencer is hoping to have enough players interested to form a team. Tournament play is optional and will result in extra cost for tournament fees and jerseys. These fees will be collected separate and not through Community Schools.

Collage and Decoupage

Wow – two very fancy words…  What do they mean?  In the collage section of the course we will create a fabulous piece of original art on real canvas using nothing but acrylic paint and clippings from magazines and newspapers.  You will be amazed what you can create using little bits and pieces of colored paper and arranging them to form a larger image – your art piece!  During our decoupage segment we will be decorating useful every-day items such as holiday ornaments, picture frames, and boxes also using images on paper and then preserving them with acrylic, so you can enjoy them for a long time to come! And you will never have to hear not to use so much glue – the instructor will tell you to use more!
I wouldn’t miss this one, if I were you!
