Riverdale girls (and their Lake Oswego or Portland pals) in grades 6-12 can sign up for this summer basketball camp to improve fundamental skills such as footwork, passing, ball-handling and shooting. Camp costs $125 and runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., July 17-19, at Riverdale Grade School. It’s directed by Joe Schaumburg, in conjunction with Riverdale basketball coaching staff. Top finishes for track and field The Riverdale Boys’ and Girls’ Track and Field teams competed at the annual Lewis & Clark League District Track Meet on May 12-13. The Riverdale Athletic Department and the Booster Club happily provide access to an athletic trainer for all students at both Riverdale school campuses. Ryan Rockwood is a certified athletic trainer from OHSU and has been helping Riverdale for many years. You’ll see Ryan during practices or on the sidelines of varsity contests during the school

Lewis & Clark League Sportsmanship Award

Good news for Riverdale Mavericks basketball today!  The girls’ team received the Sportsmanship Award for the Lewis and Clark League! The award will be given out at the League Championship games at Scappoose High School on Saturday night.  Congratulations! The Mavericks hosted the 7th Annual Riverdale Holiday Basketball Tournament during winter break, including 14 teams from across the state. Maverick girls took the runner-up trophy in the championship game, losing to the Faith Bible Falcons, 60-29. Maverick boys finished the tournament in third place after beating the Westview Wildcat Frosh team, 74-58.
