Job Opportunity: Community School Director

If you have a passion for Community School and would like to earn some extra money, we'd like to hear from you!

Our PTC Community School provides affordable extended care as well as enrichment classes such as Marimba, French, Drama, Clay, Chess and Mandarin. Setting up and running the system has become cumbersome for our volunteers, so we are seeking a Riverdale parent or staff member to act as our PTC Community School Director. This part-time position, which pays a stipend for your contracted services, includes growing our program and managing the details of Community School and Extended Care. This part-time position will take about 10 hours a week or 100 hours/trimester. To submit your application letter and inquire about further details, please contact Karen Chong at Karenadamschong@gmail.com.

LUNCH

Your kids love it.
You appreciate the simplicity.
Now we just need you to sign up for ONE DAY to help serve lunch!

Serving lunch is a great way to meet other parents & see all our kids in action.  Please consider helping out, especially if you've never served before. You may sign up for future spots available by clicking VolunteerSpot and then "my activities". We must have 6 to 7 volunteers every day to get students their food in a timely manner.  We have many open time slots this week and next.

Thanks for all you do!!  The hungry kids will be very appreciative!

If you cannot make a shift you are signed up for, please:

1. Switch with a friend (you can also check Volunteer Spot to find a swap);
2. Contact someone on the Sub List;
3. If you've tried both of those things, contact Allison Kehoe ASAP. No-shows shortchange the kids, stress out the Riverdale staff and are unfair to our caterers.

RSD Visioning and Strategic Planning Process

Visioning and Strategic Planning process
As we have discussed in previous Board communications, a committee of parents, teachers, administration, Foundation, and Board has been working on developing a Vision and Strategic Plan for the district.  The output of this committee was delivered to the Board and adopted on April 15, 2013, and the final document can be found at www.riverdaleschool.com/strategic_planning

We wish to again express our appreciation to the team that came together and created the visioning document, and especially thank Michelle Janke for leading the team through this effort and for the time she devoted to this work.
