Engineering FUN with LEGO 10a.m. - 1p.m., ages 7-11 (first graders with some experience may sign up), cost $150/student. Room 105
Did you hear about the LEGO Engineering class that Riverdale offered last Spring after school on Mondays? The company that ran it is Play-Well (www.play-well.org), and we're coming back to teach a summer camp! We will have all new projects and will add some green engineering into the mix (yes, we have LEGO solar panels that are true photovoltaics), capture the energy of the sun and go crazy with motors, while learning how the process works. This camp is appropriate for the LEGO maniacs who took the Spring class AND for new campers who love LEGO and/or math and science. As with the class, students will take on real-life engineering challenges that explore concepts in physics, architecture, mechanical and structural engineering with over 100,000 pieces of LEGO® material. From racecars to Battletracks, this is a hands-on and minds-on camp suitable for LEGO novices to "maniacs." Designed by engineers, the curriculum challenges both new and returning students to reach the next level of engineering comprehension, all while having fun.
Chess 1:30-4:30pm, Grades K-8, $125 Chess class in Room 136. Mozek Games Professional chess instruction & competition, balanced with fun. Bring a sack lunch for full-day.

Lego WeDo Robotics 1-4pm, Grades K-4, $125
Join our WeDo Robotics Camps, using the recently released Lego Education WeDo Robotics Programs that facilitates a hands-on, minds-on learning experience for grade-schoolers. Very young students will build their own robotic models & learn computer-programming skills! Bring a sack lunch for full-day. Discount for full-day
Chess 1-4 pm, Grades K-8, $125

JULY 11 – 15, Grades 2 – 8 (limit 5 students), Cost $215 per class, $400 for both
Sewing: Fantasy Fiber (8:30 – 12:30 p.m.)
In this "sewing-meets-science" camp, kids will learn to change the texture of fabric with heat, sewing and color; dye wool roving with Kool Aid; work with leather, wool and household objects; and make wet felt slippers and hats! Sound mysterious and wacky? Join the class and find out!
Sewing: Creative Crafts (1:00 – 5:00 p.m.)
Learn to make fun gifts and accessories out of household items. These will blow your mind! Kids will come away with a laptop case/messenger bag, leather clutch, jewelry box (made out of a bottle!) and an oilcloth bike basket/backpack.
